Ingredients
- 330 g Wheat flour Type 405
- 200 g Refined sugar
- 1 tbsp Baking powder
- 1 pinch Table salt
- 320 ml Natural oat drink (plus 2 tbsp extra)
- 80 ml Neutral sunflower oil
- 1 tbsp Natural cloudy apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp Liquid vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp Baking cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp Powdered sugar for dusting
Preparation
- 1Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Grease a Gugelhupf pan well with a little oil and dust with flour.
- 2In a large bowl, mix all liquid ingredients – oat drink, oil, apple cider vinegar, and vanilla extract – together. Add flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt, and combine everything into a smooth, lump-free batter.
- 3Pour half of the batter into a second bowl. Stir in the baking cocoa and the additional 2 tablespoons of oat drink into this half until a uniform dark batter is formed.
- 4Alternately spoon light and dark batter in layers into the prepared pan. Finally, carefully swirl a fork or knife through the layers to create the typical marble pattern. Bake the cake in the oven for approx. 40–50 minutes (perform a skewer test).
- 5After baking, let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then carefully invert it onto a wire rack and let it cool completely. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted dark chocolate, as desired.
Tip
For a particularly fine note, you can add a pinch of cinnamon to the dark batter. Be careful not to overmix the batter to ensure the cake remains beautifully fluffy.
