In a deep plate, whisk the egg with the instant espresso powder and 2 tablespoons of milk using a fork. Add the brown sugar and a pinch of salt and mix well. Soak the toast slices one by one in the mixture – each side for about 60–90 seconds, so they absorb the liquid well.

Meanwhile, heat a medium-sized pan over medium heat and melt the butter in it.

Place the soaked toast slices in the pan and fry them until golden brown for 2–3 minutes on each side. Set the finished toast aside briefly.
