Ingredients

  • 260 g carrots
  • 100 g yellow onion
  • 45 g smoked tofu
  • 50 g millet
  • 15 g corn flour
  • 22 g cornstarch
  • 23 g soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
  • 80 ml still water
  • ¾ tsp ground rosemary
  • 1 pinch ground ginger
  • ½ tsp dried lovage
  • ¾ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper ground
  • 2 pinches salt

Preparation

    Rinse the millet four times with hot water to remove any bitterness. Then cook until soft according to package instructions over low heat.

    Finely grate the carrots and finely dice the onion. Lightly salt both and briefly sauté them one after another in a pan.

    Combine the cooked millet with the sautéed carrots and onions in a bowl. Crumble in the smoked tofu. Add all the spices (rosemary, ginger, lovage, thyme, coriander, turmeric, onion powder, nutmeg, smoked paprika powder, pepper, and salt), nutritional yeast flakes, cornstarch, and corn flour. Mix everything well.

    Form small patties from the mixture and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with a little oil and bake in a preheated oven at 190 °C convection for approx. 25 minutes until golden brown.
