Preparation method
Heat the sunflower oil in a large pot. Sear the ground beef over high heat for approx. 5–8 minutes until it's crumbly and brown. Remove the meat from the pot and set aside.
Return the pot to the stove and sauté the diced onions over medium heat for approx. 7–8 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and taco seasoning and roast for another 1–2 minutes. Deglaze everything with the chopped tomatoes. Fill the empty tomato cans twice with water and add them to the pot as well (approx. 800 ml water in total).
Return the seared meat to the pot and let everything simmer over medium heat for approx. 8–10 minutes. Then add the penne pasta and cook al dente for approx. 5–8 minutes (or according to package instructions).
