Preparation of the Mashed Potatoes
First, prepare the potatoes: Peel, cut into cubes, and place in a large pot. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Once the water boils, salt, reduce heat to medium, and cook the potatoes covered for approx. 15–18 minutes until tender.
When the potatoes are cooked, drain the water. In a small saucepan, heat the milk with 20 g butter for approx. 1–2 minutes until the butter is melted and the milk is hot. Add the hot milk mixture to the potatoes and beat everything with an electric hand mixer until a fine purée is formed.
Prepare the Meatballs
While the potatoes are cooking, prepare the meatballs. Peel and press the garlic. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the ground beef with the pressed garlic, egg, dried dill, corn breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Form 16 equally sized balls from the mixture.
