- 1 Lemon
- 2 tbsp Brandy Vinegar
- 400 g White Sugar / Refined Sugar
- 60 g Fresh Mint
- 150 ml Cloudy Apple Juice
- 150 ml Sparkling Mineral Water
- Ice cubes as needed
- 1 Lime (sliced)
Preparation of the Syrup
Place the lemon in a bowl of water, add two tablespoons of vinegar, and let it soak for a few minutes to thoroughly clean the peel. Afterward, rinse the lemon and slice it. Pluck the mint leaves and cut them into smaller pieces.
Bring half a liter of water to a boil with the sugar, then let it cool. Once the mixture has cooled, add the mint and lemon slices. Let the syrup infuse (macerate) for 12 to 24 hours. Afterward, strain it through a fine sieve or cloth, pour it into a sealable bottle, and store it in the refrigerator.
Serving the Drink
Fill two glasses with ice cubes. Pour 20 ml of the homemade mint syrup and the cloudy apple juice (apple must) into each. Top up with sparkling mineral water. Stir gently and garnish with a lime slice and a sprig of fresh mint.
Chef's tip
The mint syrup keeps for several weeks in the refrigerator and also tastes excellent in klassická Limonade or tea.
