Peel the fresh mango, cut the flesh from the pit, and dice it into coarse pieces. Let the frozen mango pieces thaw slightly until they are easily pliable.

Place both types of mango in a tall container and finely puree with an immersion blender. For a particularly fine, fiber-free texture, the mixture can also be strained through a sieve.

Put the mango puree into a pot, add honey and lemon juice. Gently heat the mixture while stirring until the honey is fully combined with the fruit puree (do not boil).
